Was sind eure Top 3 Soundtracks aus Battlestar Galactica? Ich weiss, Herr McCreary hat eigentlich nur gutes für die beste aller Sci-Fi Serien produziert aber trotzdem gibt es Musiken, die bessere sind als andere. Nennt hier bitte die 3 Stücke, welche sich bis heute in euer Gehirn eingebrannt haben. Als Entscheidungshilfe hier die Listung aller Musiken von den BSG-Soundtrack CDs, Season 1-4 (Ich weiss, S 4 ist noch nicht draussen, aber ein guter Fan kann sich sofort an das Stück erinnern, wenn er den Namen liest! ;-)

Grade Wander My Friends ist einfach ein super Song wenn man dabei die Folge sieht. Passt einfach wunderbar und man freud sich einfach mit den leuten über den ersten Sieg gegen die Cylonen.

Der ist zwar von Richard Gibbs, gehört aber auch dazu und zumindest das Zylonen-Thema (z.B. "By your Command") wurde für die Serie sehr häufig wieder aufgenommen.

Meine Top 3 unter allen Titeln sind:

Platz 1: A Good Lighter
Platz 2: Prelude to War
Platz 3: The Shape of Things to Come

Ich habe vom Stil her möglichst unterschiedliche Titel genommen, wel sich in einem Soundtrack zwangsläufig gewisse Themen immer wiederholen. So steht "Good Lighter" natürlich stellvertretend für alle Titel, die sich dieses Themas annehmen, z.B. "Reuniting the Fleet", "Wander my Friends" oder "Admiral and Commander".

"Prelude to War" ist für die perfekte Untermalung der perfektesten Folge, nämlich "Pegasus". Auch dank Unterstützung durch die Musik hat die Folge einen unglaublich spannenden Cliffhanger.

Und "The Shape of Things to come" ist wirklich ein wundervolles, klassisches Stück, das ich mir immer wieder gerne anhöre.

PS: Mir fällt auf, dass auf der Track-Liste von Staffel 4 nichts von "Razor" dabei ist. Mir würde jetzt zwar kein besonderer Track aus dem Film spontan einfallen, aber es hieß mal, es sollten auf diesem Soundtrack auch ein paar Sachen von "Razor" drauf sein.

Inzwischen habe ich den Soundtrack der vierten Staffel. Die drei erwarteten guten Titel will ich noch ergänzen:

- The Signal (aus Revelations)

Diesen Track hatte ich ganz vergessen, dabei habe ich ihn bei entsprechender Episodenkritik meiner Erinnerung nach sogar noch extra gelobt.

Jetzt wo ich alle Soundtracks kenne, sage ich mal, dass doch jener der zweiten Staffel der beste ist. Da war das Niveau grundlegend sehr hoch. Bei den anderen ist immer wieder mal was dabei, das nicht so toll ist.

Kann beim besten Willen keine Top 3 auswählen. Viel zuviele geniale Stücke sind dabei, die es einfach nicht verdienen untergeordnet zu werden.

Bin aber momentan regelrecht verschossen in Kara's Coordinates aus Staffel 4.

Sehe das ähnlich wie spidey1980. Ich hätte schon bei der Wahl der Top 10 meine liebe Not.

Vom neuen Soundtrack habens mir derzeit "Elegy", "Dreilide Thrace Sonata No. 1" und allgemein das Earth-Thema angetan... Hm, immerhin kann ich Top 3 für ein Album bennen. Das ist doch schonmal was

Aktuell gefällt mir "Roslin and Adama Reunited - From the Episode "The Hub" sehr gut. Liegt vielleicht auch daran, dass es einfach nur ein schöner Moment war.

Und sonst mag ich eigentlich alle Variationen vom Adama Family Theme.

Was mir noch an dem Score aufgefallen ist, ist die Entwicklung. Wenn man Staffel 1 mit Staffel 3 vergleicht, verwendet McCreary doch bei Staffel 3 wesentlich mehr Bass, oder nicht?

Hm, also derzeit höre ich mich gerade an Season 4 fest, und da laufen bei mir am häufigsten "Resurrection Hub" und "So much life".

Bei der Miniserie waren es ganz klar "Are you alive / Main title" und "The storm an the dead".
bei Staffel 1, "A good lighter" und "Two funerals"

bei Staffel 2, "Colonial Anthem", "Pegasus" sowie "Prelude to war" und "Roslin and Adama".
