Die 19. Staffel lieferte anfangs leider einige sehr sehr schwache Folgen ab und konnte erst am Ende der Staffel etwas an Quälität gewinnen. Leider hat der Doctor in dieser Staffel keinen wirklich guten Begleiter. Irgendwoher muß ja das Sprichwort "Quantität ist nicht gleich Qualität" kommen. Auch kann ich mich mit dem neuen Doctor nicht anfreunden, ich finde diesen irgendwie hölzern, überhaupt nicht lustig und steif. Dafür war dann die Cybermen-und die Black orchid-Folge für mich ein Highlight dieser Staffel.

Ich mußte soeben feststellen das die 18. Staffel bis jetzt mit Abstand die Staffel ist, die mir am schlechtesten gefallen hat! Einerseits waren sehr viele Folgen sehr schwach und andererseits gab es keine wirklich gute Folge. Es scheint so das die Serie mit der 18. Staffel einen Durchhänger hat. Ich hoffe das ändert sich wieder in der nächsten Staffel. Schade fand ich es auch das am Ende dieser Staffel Romana und mal wieder K9 weggegngen sind. Das ist kein gutes Vorzeichen für die kommende Staffel.

Die 17. Staffel lieferte einige sehr gute Folgen ab, besonders am Anfang und am Ende der Staffel. Sehr schön finde ich es das K9 noch immer dabei ist, jedoch seine neue Stimme finde ich leider nicht mehr sehr passend. Ein klein wenig negativ in dieser Staffel ist mir auch Romana II aufgefallen, weil ich finde das sie sich von der starken Frau immer mehr zu weinerlichen Frau entwickelt. Hoffentlich hält dieser Trend nicht an.

Sehr gut gefallen an der 16. Staffel hat es mir das der Doctor ein weiteres K9 Modell als Begleiter hat. Ich finde nämlich dieses Hündchen ist eine Bereicherung für die Serie. Auch die neue Begleiterin Romana hat mir sehr gut gefallen, einerseits weil sie sehr hübsch und meistens sehr sexy angezogen ist und andererseits weil sie intellektuell mit dem Doctor mithalten kann. Auch sehr interessant ist der Umstand das sie ebenfalls ein Time Lord ist.

Die 15. Staffel hat zwar recht gut angefangen, lieferte aber dann ein paar recht schwache Folgen und am Ende gab es dann eine sehr gute Episode. Jedoch bin ich sehr enttäuscht das Leela schon in dieser Staffel den Doctor verläßt und K9 gleich "mitnimmt".

Die 14. Staffel hat zwar recht schwach angefangen, lieferte aber am Ende zwei superspannende Folgen ab, welche den Staffelschnitt sehr hoch nach oben zog. Diese Staffel hat mir bis jetzt am besten gefallen, was auch meine durchschnittliche Bewertung wiederspiegelt. Auch die neue Begleiterin des Doctors, Leela, finde ich klasse, da sie sehr stark und mutig ist und sich somit von seinen anderen Begleiterinen stark unterscheidet und abhebt.

Die 13. Staffel war leider etwas schächer als die vorangegangene Staffel, was leider zum Großteil daran lag das die abschließende sechsteilige Folge sehr schwach war. Sarah Jane als Begleiterin ist großteil sehr unterhaltsam und wirkt zu ihren Vorgängerinnen viel taffer und stärker.

Die zwölfte Staffel hat mir bis jetzt am besten gefallen, da diese einige sehr gute Folgen liefert. Besonders gut gefallenhat es mir das gezeigt wurde wie die Daleks entstanden sind und wie der Doctor versucht hat dies leider teilweise erfolglos zu verhindern. Weniger gut hat mir leider die Cybermen-Folge gefallen, da diese ein wenig chaotisch wirkte und wenig spannend war.
Somit kann die nächste Staffel gerne kommen.

Auch die elfte Staffel konnte wieder gut unterhalten und Sarah Jane Smith ist bis jetzt im Großen und Ganzen eine sehr angenehme Begleiterin des Doctors. Auch gut gefallen hat mir die Umsetzung des Doctorwechsels in der letzten Episode dieser Staffel. Somit bin ich schon sehr gespannt wie der neue Doctor wird.

Die zehnte Staffel war im Großen und ganzen wieder in Ordnung. Es gab ein paar sehr gute Folgen, aber auch ein paar weniger unterhaltsame Episoden. Ein wenig jedoch störte mich an dieser Staffel der Abgang von Jo bzw. die rasche Hochzeit. Das Kennenlernen ihres Freundes und der Heiratsantrag ging einfach viel zu schnell. Besser wäre es gewesen den Teil mit der Hochzeit einfach weg zu lassen.

2. Staffel mit Sylvester McCoy

Sylvester McCoys zweite Staffel ist besser als seine Debütrunde. McCoy ist jetzt weniger clowning, sondern hat ein Verhalten angenommen, dass ich als Columbo-Effekt bezeichne. Größtenteils wirkt er zerstreut und hat einen Hang zum Nerven, aber letztendlich blitzt ein messerscharfer Verstand durch.
Und Ace mag ich auch irgendwie. Klar, das ist ein Rotz-Teen, aber von der unterhaltsamen Sorte.

Zu den Geschichten kann ich allerdings nur sagen: Steinigt mich alle, aber irgendwie wundert es mich nicht dass Michael Grade und die BBC irgendwann die Show eingestellt haben. Sicher, lebte "Doctor Who" immer davon, dass sich die Serie nicht ZU ernst nahm, aber bei Staffel 24 und (etwas weniger) bei Staffel 25 habe ich das Gefühl, man habe die Serie GAR NICHT MEHR ernst genommen. Und trotz Anhalter-Charme, trotz vermeintlicher Kinder/Jugendserie und trotz Budgetbegrenzungen: Eine halbwegs sinnvolle Geschichte hinzukriegen, dürfte doch wohl machbar sein

Eine Staffel ohne Höhepunkte. Einzelne Folgen sind noch sehenswert, aber mit dem Handlungsbogen kann ich nicht viel anfangen. Zu den Enthüllungen kann ich nur sagen: Na ja.

Zwei Staffeln im Überblick

Zum ersten: Staffel 8 der neuen bzw. Staffel 34 der Gesamt-Serie bzw. die erste Staffel mit Peter Capaldi als Doctor:

Fazit: Peter Capaldi hatte mich bereits nach der ersten Folge. Sein Doctor ist kantiger, weniger liebenswert und auch "alienhafter" als die Inkarnationen von Smith und Tennant und weiß genau dadurch zu überzeugen. Der Humor aus Capaldis Doctor ergiebt sich daher auch weniger aus Herumgealbere sondern aus der Situation heraus. Allein seine zahlreichen Kommentare gegen Clara und den "Sportlehrer" sind das Salz in dieser Staffel.
Geschichtsmäßig sieht es eher mau aus: Viel Durchschnitt, nicht wirklich schlecht, aber auch nicht überragend. "Listen" und "Flatline" haben mir am Besten gefallen. Das Staffelfinale mit "Missy" hat mir ganz und gar nicht gefallen. Am schlimmsten fand ich auch die Einbeziehung des Brigadiers (an die Herren Moffat, Davis und Co.: Ihr hättet den Brigadier auch mal einbinden können, als Nicholas Courtney noch am Leben war).
Im Gesamten gemischte Gefühle... und keine negativen davon haben mit Capaldi zu tun.

Zum zweiten: Staffel 24 bzw. die erste Staffel mit Sylvester McCoy als Doctor

Wow, der wahrscheinlich mieseste Durchschnitt, den ich jemals vergeben habe. McCoys Debüt Staffel enthält aber auch vier miese Geschichten in Folge. Produzent JNT wollte - so entnehme ich dem Bonusmaterial der DVDs - wieder mehr Humor und weniger Gewalt in die Serie einbringen. Tja, da sind sie wohl über das Ziel hinausgeschossen. Das Ganze wirkt einfach nur albern, überdreht und dadurch witzlos. Sylvester McCoy kann mich bislang überhaupt nicht begeistern. Das Zerstreute an seinem Doktor hat noch Charme, das clownige Herumgehampel aber gar nicht. Von allen Doktoren gefällt er mir bislang am wenigsten. Die neunte Staffel konnte die Qualität der achten Stafffel halten und lieferte einige spannende und unterhaltsame Folgen. Jedoch finde ich das es langsam mal wieder Zeit das der Doctor mehr Tardisreisen unternimmt und auf mehr außerirdische Lebensformen trifft und neue Planeten erforscht.
